GANGTOK, 19 May: An executive body meeting of Sikkim
Graduate Teachers' Welfare Association (SGTWA) was held today in Namchi. In the
meeting, SGTWA congratulated Pawan Chamling led Sikkim Democratic Front on winning
the Assembly and Parliamentary election 2014 for the fifth time.
A press release informs that SGTWA has expressed hope that
the fifth term of the SDF government would also be fruitful in the education sector
especially at the secondary level as the government has been giving emphasis on
quality education and much effort is being put towards it.
It was also decided to call on Mr Chamling soon to reiterate
the various demands of graduate teachers of Sikkim placed to him before the
election which he had assured to resolve post elections. A team has also been
formed to meet the Principal Secretary of HRDD regarding the various grievances
and demands of graduate teachers, the release informs.
The executive body comprises Johna Targain (president),
Suresh K. Subba (general secretary), Manoj Pradhan (treasurer), Mohan Chettri (executive
member) and other members, it is added.
