GANGTOK, 23 May: Rotary Club of Gangtok has announced its
plan to hold ‘Rotary Education Expo- 2014’ here at Chintan Bhawan on 01 June.
This is the first such event being organized by the Club.
This was informed during a press conference of the Rotary
Club of Gangtok held here today. The day-long expo will have career counseling,
career guidance, career consultancy and motivational sessions by experts.
Addressing the press conference, the chairman of the expo,
Tirtha Sharma said that the Rotary Club of Gangtok has been working in various
sectors like health, social and others in the state since it was formed. This
is the first time that the Club is organizing an educational expo especially
for class X and XII pass outs of the state, he informed.
During the expo, resource persons from the state and outside
will conduct sessions on prospective colleges and universities, loan and
assistance from banks, course selection and its scopes, state government
schemes and aids, it was informed.
Mr. Sharma informed that experts from aeronautical
engineering, pharmacy, management and other fields from various universities of
Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Assam and other places will be coming for the expo.
The expo will also have stalls of different colleges for
spot admission while an official from the RBI will explain the process for getting
educational loan and officials from the HRDD will explain the schemes and
scholarships available.
Rotary Club of Gangtok has invited students especially class
X and XII pass outs to visit the expo. The club is planning to make the expo an
annual event, it was further informed.
The press conference was also addressed by senior club members,
OP Singhi, Manoj Agarwal and Arun Awasthy.
