GANGTOK, 05 May: 36-year-old Ram Prasad Naskar from West Bengal has been on a National Cycle Rally since 18 December 2013 to create awareness on global warming and its effects. Naskar has covered a distance of 13,570 KM on his cycle so far and reached Gangtok on Sunday.
He hails from South 24 Parganas, Sonarpur, Subash Gram in West Bengal and is a teacher by profession.
Speaking to media persons here, he said that he has covered 21 states so far on his cycle to create awareness on global warming and its ill effects. The route map for his National Cycle Rally was prepared by the Mechanical Engineering Department of Jadavpur University.
He left for Assam today and will now cover all North-Eastern states.
