MANGAN, 30 Sept: The newly constructed recreation park ‘Bus Dara Park’ at Mangan was inaugurated and dedicated to senior citizens of Mangan in a function held today under the banner of Mangan Nagar Panchayat [MNP]. The park has been constructed under the Backward Region Grant Fund [BRGF], RMDD whereas the street lights in the park have been provided by SREDA.
The area MLA Lachen-Mangan, Tshering Wangdi Lepcha, present as the chief guest, unveiled the park today.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appealed to the people of Mangan to maintain the park properly and not rely solely on the department and MNP. Highlighting on the beautification of Mangan town, the MLA said that an additional amount of Rs. 3 crore has also been sanctioned for the beautification work and further added that the construction of slaughter house for Mangan has also been approved which will be constructed near the food go-down office. The MLA also expressed his gratitude to Border Road Organisation (BRO) for maintaining the Mangan Bazaar road.
Earlier in his address, MNP president, Karma Jigdel Bhutia, underlined the details of the development of the park and also announced that the park has been dedicated especially to the senior citizens of Mangan. He also extended gratitude to the RMDD and SREDA for their support.
Also during the function, ten trainees who have completed a two-and-a-half month driving course were provided certificates, driving license and the honorarium. The function also saw the distribution of 20 garbage pits by MNP to different areas of Mangan Bazar under solid waste management.
Earlier, the function was welcomed by Palden Bhutia (Bazaar Inspector MNP) and ended with the vote of thanks by Zangmoo Riponpa (Councillor).
