NAMCHI, 04 Oct: With the view to improve garbage management in the area and spread the message of keeping our surroundings neat and clean, the Government Drivers Association of Namchi conducted a cleanliness drive today here at Samdruptse area in South Sikkim. The team was headed by the association’s president, Denzong Tamang and comprised of other members of the association.
President, Mr. Tamang informed that their association is continuously conducting such drives and other social activities apart from their daily duties. Since the Guru Vajra recitation is set to begin from Saturday at the statue of Guru Padmasambhava, a huge number of devotees are expected to turn up at Samdruptse, the association decided to clean up the area, he further informed. Mr Tamang also urged visitors and tourists to not litter the area.
