Function organized to nurture talents of children at Darap


GANGTOK, 08 Feb: Sikkim Kalyan Ashram Yuksam block (SKAY) conducted a day long function at community hall in Darap West Sikkim on 6 February. The main purpose of conducting the function was to search and identify and hidden talents of children so that the same could be nurtured to enable them to uplift society.
The Association was established on September 2011. SKAY mainly focuses on providing the best future to children, informed the publicity secretary Ran Bahadur Limboo at the programme. RB Limboo also informed that under the association a total of 21 centers had been set up in different parts of  West Sikkim including in Tashiding, Yuksam and Darap.
During the function, zilla panchayat west, SW Bhutia who chaired the day as the chief guest said that the children needed to be encouraged in a positive direction so that they could compete in the world and take up life’s challenges. He also stated that  culture and tradition should be preserved and promoted by the general public because.
During the function, children from 21 centers were also present and they marked the day with beautiful cultural extravaganza. The entire function was hosted by the general secretary Krishna Subba. The function was also attended by the president ST Lepcha who was accompanied by the respective members of the committee and general public.
