Siddeshvara Dham gears up for grand Shivaratri celebrations


NAMCHI, 19 Feb: Maha Shivaratri celebrations at Siddeshvara Dham, Solophok here began today with Mahamrityunjaya recitals which will continue for seven days. As for Maha Shivratri celebrations scheduled for Monday, these will conclude on 21 February. The Rudravishek is scheduled to begin Monday evening and continue till the next morning.
Pandit Rammilan Acharya from Prayag, Allahabad, is here to co-ordinate the Shiva Baraat and all rituals. All the NGOs, Sewa Samitis have also been invited for the occasion and their assistance solicited in hosting the celebrations.
The devout believe that praying to Lord Shiva on Maha Shivaratri frees one from past sins, liberating the devout from the cycle of birth and death.
This is the first grand event at the Siddeshvara Dham since its inauguration and a large number of tourists and locals expected to attend.
