BM Rai nominated South Zilla Adhyaksha

NAMCHI, 17 Feb: Former Zilla Upadhyaksha, BM Rai, who is also the Ravang-Namphing Zilla Panchayat, has been nominated the South District Zilla Panchayat Adhyaksha. As per a State Election Commission’s notification, the election of the South District Zilla Panchayat Adhyaksha was held at the DAC conference hall here on 14 Feb.
The post had remained vacant since the death of the last incumbent, Ravi Chandra Gurung. The nomination was held as per the guidelines of the State Election Commission.
After completing the nominations procedure, the District Collector South who is also the Returning Officer formally declared the result of the uncontested election of the Adhyaksha SDZP. The Returning Officer also administered the Oath of Office to BM Rai as the newly elected Adhyaksha of SDZP.
The function was attended by the Advisor of Ecclesiastical Department, Lakpa Tamang, Up-Adhyaksha, Himal Tamang, DDO(s), DPO(s), other District Heads and 19 Zilla Panchayat members of South District among others.
