KRS South convenes AGM


GANGTOK, 23 Oct: The Akhil Kirat Rai Sangh, South District, convened its Annual General Meeting at Namchi today, informs a press release issued by general secretary, AKRS South, Shailesh Rai.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman, Temi Tea Board, Gagan Rai, while area MLA, Namchi-Singithang, Binod Rai, was present as the guest of honour. The meeting included a presentation on the activities of AKRS-South and a report on the accounts of the Sangh.
The existing district committee was dissolved by the out-going president, SK Rai, and a new District committee was formed. RN Rai was appointed as the election commissioner who conducted the election procedure.
The new members elected to the District committee are Dr. Nayan Rai as President, Indra Rai as Vice President, Shailesh Rai as General Secretary, Puspa Rai as Joint Secretary and Bimal Rai as Treasurer.
The four executive members elected are Bimla Rai, Sangam Rai, Subhash Das Rai and Laxuman Rai. Further, Gopal Rajalim was elected as the General Secretary to CEC while Bijay Bikram Rai and CK Rai were elected as executive members to CEC.
An advisory committee was also formed with SL Rai appointed as Chief Advisor and KB Rai, Hasta Bir Rai, Suraj Rai and RB Rai as advisors, the release adds.
