NAMCHI, 23 Oct: Cluster-level Primary Teachers’ Training was held at Govt Secondary School Kitam, South Sikkim, yesterday following directions received from the district authority of HRDD (South), informs a press release.
The training was aimed at making primary teachers efficient and competent for the holistic development of students at the elementary level.
In the first session of the training, Graduate Teacher, Kitam SS, Suresh K Subba, highlighted the Communicative Approach of Teaching English at the elementary level, the release informs.
He stressed that exposure and practice is needed to improve and develop language skills, which is to be provided by the school, family and the society.
GD Tamang, in turn, spoke about guidance and counselling to be provided to students by the teacher at the primary level for the holistic development of the child.
Similarly, Headmaster of Gom JHS, PN Singh, spoke on the problems and solutions of teaching mathematics at the primary level, while Headmaster, Kitam SS, DM Thapa, addressed the importance of remedial teaching and implementation of CCE & RTE at the elementary level, the release further informs.
Teacher participants from Kitam School and its feeder school participated in the interactive session. Such training will be held every Saturday at the Cluster level till March 2012, it is informed.
