GANGTOK, 14 May: To mark the 58th birth anniversary of Art of Living Founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar which falls on 13 May, Art Of Living Sikkim Chapter carried out service activities in different parts of the state.
A press release informs that a series of Happiness Programs have been lined up across the state during this time. Happiness Program was organised simultaneously at Gangtok and Gyalshing from 06 to 11 May. One Program is currently underway at Kazi Road, Gangtok. Similarly, Happiness Programmes will be held at Rhenock, East Sikkim, on 20 May and at the Art of Living Centre Tadong from 27 May.
On the other hand, members of the Art of Living Sikkim Chapter visited Sita Panchawati Ashram, Lingdum, run by social worker, Thagumaya Bardewa. The members donated a Godrej cupboard and clothes for the children living in the Ashram, the release informs.
The day's events were marked by Guru Puja, Satsang and prasadam at the centres situated in Gangtok, Gyalshing, Jorethang and Rhenock. In addition, the Sikkim Chapter has also announced a series of courses/programs for the upcoming months.
From 13-15 June, Divya Samaj Nirman [DSN] Program will be held at Shiv Mandir, Deorali School Road. Individuals who have taken the Art of Living Basic Level Course are eligible to participate in the Program. DSN translates to 'Do Something Now!' and is a transformational course that uses powerful combination of yoga practices, special meditations, breathing techniques, group processes, and deep spiritual knowledge to break through personal inhibitions and barriers and access inner stability and power.
From 29 June to 06 July, Living Well Program, a week-long course which uses yoga and pranayama to manage diabetes and high blood pressure will be held.
