GANGTOK, 17 Aug: Sikkim Boys lifted the Independence Day Football Tournament for Chogyal Sir Tashi Namgyal Memorial Cup 2014 played here at Paljor Stadium. In the final match, Sikkim Boys outplayed Kanchenjunga FC 2-0.
The Governor Shriniwas Patil was present as the chief guest while Chief Minister Pawan Chamling was the guest of honor.
Tenzing Tsepel Bhutia of Sikkim Boys was awarded with the Man of the Final Match trophy. The winning team was awarded cash prize of Rs 30,000 while the runner-up team was awarded with the cash prize of Rs 20,000.
The Governor also awarded Rs 11,000 and Rs 7,000 to the winners and the runner-up team respectively.
