GANGTOK, 14 Aug: A seven-member delegation of Football Club Association of Sikkim led by its president, Bhaichung Bhutia, called on the Governor, Shriniwas Patil, at Raj Bhavan today. The Governor extended warm greetings to the members of the association, informs a press release from Raj Bhavan.
During the interaction, Bhaichung apprised the Governor about the aims and objectives of the association to promote and nurture football talents in Sikkim.
The Governor expressed that since Sikkim is blessed with abundant footballing talents, the need is to identify, groom and help them to excel in the field. This, he added, is possible only through the collaborative effort of all the stakeholders including professional clubs, football association and sports authorities.
The Governor also assured all possible help in the association's endeavours and asked them to remain committed to the promotion of football in Sikkim.
