GANGTOK, Oct 23: A meeting of Sikkim Sub-ordinate Accounts Service Association [SSASA] was held today under the chairmanship of general secretary [SSASA], Chultim Bhutia. The meeting discussed the upcoming election of East District Executive Committee and Central Executive Committee [CEC] scheduled to be held on 27 October at Janta Bhawan here.
A press release informs that the election process will be conducted by the Election Committee which has Hira Narayan Pradhan as election commissioner and three other members under the observation of Joint Director [Accounts] Finance Revenue & Expenditure department, Norbu Dadul Bhutia, and Deputy Director [Accounts] Irrigation & Flood Control Department, ML Sharma.
The nomination process for both Executive Committee i.e East District & Central Executive Committee [CEC] for all posts as mentioned in the constitution is scheduled to be held between 10 am to 10:30 am while withdrawal of nomination can be done by 11 a.m. The election of the East District Committee will be held first according to the constitution of the association Vide part: V, Article No. 49 & 50 i.e. secret ballot or by nomination from 11 am while declaration of result of East District Committee will be done at 12 noon. Voting process for Central Executive Committee [CEC] will be held at 12:30 pm onwards and results declared at 2pm, informs the release.
While addressing the meeting, the general secretary, Mr. Bhutia, emphasized on the activities and responsibilities of the association along with the importance of the formation of new Central Executive body scheduled to be held on 27 October from 9:30 am onwards, so that the new office bearers could place the association’s demands and grievances before the government in time.
The gathering was also briefed by Prem Sapkota [publicity secretary] on the process of formation of new Executive Committee which will be held at Janta Bhawan and he urged all the SSASA members of East District and newly elected body of the three district committees to participate in the voting process for formation of East District Committee and CEC and witness the formation of Central Executive Committee [CEC] as per the constitution by the elected members of four district committees.
