GANGTOK, 20 Oct [IPR]: Nayuma Women’s Cooperative Society (NWCS) Ltd. organized a Dividend and Bonus distribution programme at its manufacturing unit here before the Dasain break on 11 October. The programme had D. Dadul, Principal Registrar, Cooperation Department, as chief guest.
The chief guest presented dividend at 3% of share contributed and bonus of Rs. 10,000 each to active members of NWCS. Similarly, he also distributed bonus and incentive to all the professional executives, non-members and artisans of self help groups under NWCS.
The NWCS president, Rinchen Doma Sherpa, in turn presented a cheque of Rs. 45,000 to the chief guest as Dividend on shares of Rs. 15 lakh contributed to NWCS by Cooperation Department.
During the function, the chief guest congratulated all members of NWCS and the In-charge and Deputy Registrar Tshering Tobgay Bhutia along with the Consultant Executive Tashi Tshering for their dedication towards the society. He said that the NWCS has created history in the cooperative sector of Sikkim by distributing dividend and bonus to members, professionals as well as to the government. The dividend presented to the government by NWSC will be utilized for the development of other cooperative societies in the state, he assured.
He said that sincerity and proper management were the most important factors in making the society successful. He also suggested opening other branches in the districts.
While addressing the gathering the Former Registrar of Cooperation Department, Wangyal Tshering Bhutia, shared his experience or working with the NWCS and congratulated it for its achievement. He said that the society was a good example of Women’s Empowerment in the state.
The programme was also addressed by the RK Gautam, Additional Registrar and Tshering Topgay In-charge NWCS and Deputy Registrar Cooperative Department. Earlier, Kamala Rai, member, Board of Directors NWCS presented a brief report and background of the society while Ledina Lepcha, Assistant Manager proposed the vote of thanks.
