NAMCHI, 21 Oct: Following up on the source information, Namchi Police today nabbed an alleged drug peddler from his residence in the border town of Mamring in South Sikkim along with a substantial cache of prescription drugs of abuse.
PI Bijoy Subba of Namchi Police Station informs that one Bee Kumar Rai (23) of Pakyong in East Sikkim, currently residing in a rented house at Mamring had been on the police radar for suspected involvement in drug peddling for a while now. When a source tipped cops of the suspect being possession of substances of abuse, the Mamring polic outpost was alerted and a team of cops under the directions of OC Namchi PS and led by ASI Deo Narayan Rai raided the rented house of Bee Kr Rai.
The raid reportedly led t the recovery of 20 bottles of a much abused cough syrup, 210 tablets of N-10 and 1,091 capsules of Spasmo-proxyvon. The accused has been taken into custody and a case under Sikkim Anti-Drugs Act registered at Namchi Police Station.
