MANGAN, 25 Oct: Tumin GPU under Rakdong Tintek GVK, East Sikkim, held a Special Gram Sabha with regard to the claims and objections pertaining to the ‘Socio Economic and Caste Census’ (SECC) Draft list.
The Gram Sabha was attended by all the Gram Panchayat Members, general public, GVA-Rakdong Tintek, APO (MGNREGA), J.Es, RDAs and other staff.
The GVA, Pema Wangchen Bhutia explained in detail the process and importance of filing claims & objections by the individuals and households in case of incorrect information/date, house left out during 2011-SECC census, and scrutiny of Foreign-Nationals in the Draft List.
The household Draft List (Ward Wise) has been displayed in all the GPKs for public to cross check their individual details. He also informed that various Forms (A/B/C/D/E) are available for specific claims & objections and the last date for receiving claims & objections is 11 November, 2013.
The Gram Panchayat President and Sachiva also spoke on the importance of public being aware and coming forward to check their respective household details.
The role and significance of Village Water & Sanitation Committee (VWSC), Vigilance & Monitoring Committee (VMC) and various other GPU level committees was also discussed in detail. Group photographs along with the Name/ Contact No./ Bio Data of the members of the various committees were also undertaken in the Gram Sabha. The same would be circulated to all stake holders for record and display.
The Gram Sabha ended with the vote of thanks delivered by the Panchayat Vice President of Tumin GPU.
