GANGTOK, 25 Oct: Rashtriya Hindi Academy, Rupambara, has announced plans to organize the “International Conference on Language and Literature, Seminar, Poet’s Meet, National Award on Literature & International Rajbhasa Shield Samman” function here from 27 to 29 October. Eminent dignitaries of SAARC countries along with authors and representatives from government ministries, PSUs and other organizations are scheduled to participate in the three-day deliberations spread across nine sessions.
This was announced by Rashtriya Hindi Academy Chairman, Dr Swadesh Bharati here today. He is a Hindi writer with around 100 books, 26 poetry collections, 9 novels along with more than 90 works of criticism and stories edited works to his credit.
Dr Bharati informs that to commemorate the 144th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the 66th anniversary of the Independence, the academy was organizing the International conference on language and literature. He informed that the Academy has already organized 25 language conferences in almost all the states of India between 1989 to 2012.
It is informed that 15 government ministries and public undertaking companies have been selected for International Shield Honour, National Rajbhasa Shield Award and Rajbhasa Patrika Shield Award and 5 eminent writers will also with Vishisth Hindi Seva Samman. Likewise, international seminar on Literature will focus on Information Technology and development of Hindi, Indian and SARC languages in India and abroad.
Dr Bharati mentioned that the RHA has played a key role in recognition and inclusion of Nepali, Konkani and Manipuri language in the 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution during 1992.
