GANGTOK, 20 June: A meeting of Yakthung Sapsok Saplon Chumbho [Limboo Literary Publication Association], was held at Kyongsa Girls Sec. School, Auditorium Hall yesterday under the chairmanship of Headmaster, Darap Sec. School, PL Limboo, informs a press release.
At the outset, the Executive Committee of YSSC felicitated and congratulated HM Darap Sec. School, PL Limboo, for receiving the “Best Educationist Award” for his selfless contribution in the field of education from the International Education and Management, New Delhi.
The award was presented to him during the seminar on Education on Economic Development held at Krishna Menon Bhavan, Auditorium hall New Delhi on 09 July by the Former Union Minister and the Retired Governor, Dr. Vishnu Narayan Singh.
It was also decided in the meeting that the land in possession of the association at the moment, is not sufficient for the construction of the proposed Chemjong Memorial Hall at Tekjek, Geyzing. Hence, it was decided to acquire more land in order to build the said Bhawan which can accommodate 1000 (one thousand) people along with other uses, the release informs.
The meeting has unanimously decided to collect donations from individual members and well-wishers of the society to purchase the required additional land. Coordinators from every constituency and block level treasurers were nominated during the meeting for this purpose, the release adds. It was also resolved that the collected amount should be deposited on or before 30 Nov 2011.
It was also decided, that names of those who have donated Rs. 5,000 and above, will be inscribed on a marble stone in the Chemjong Memorial Hall. Those who have contributed less than Rs. 5,000 will have their names on the Board/Record Book in the office of the Chemjong Memorial Hall for forever.
The release further informs that the President, Sher Man Limboo, in his address appealed to all members and well-wishers of the society to come forward and extend their help, cooperation and philanthropic support for the construction of Chemjong Memorial Hall. He further assured that the collected amount would be utilized sincerely and in a transparent manner. He concluded his speech by saying that the association is fully committed to work for the welfare of the community.
