GANGTOK, 15 Sept: Students’ Union of Sikkim [SUS] had an interactive meeting with MLA cum Chief Whip to the Government of Sikkim, Ugen T. Gyatso Bhutia, at the MLA Guest House here on 13 September. During the meeting, SUS placed various demands of the students of different colleges of Sikkim, informs an SUS release.
Members of SUS from Sikkim Government Law College, Sikkim Government College Tadong and Sikkim University attended the meeting. Interacting with members of the SUS, Mr Bhutia urged the Union to work with commitment for the welfare of students and for the state as a whole.
Encouraging the union to keep up the good work, he also invited suggestions from them that would help the government to run smoothly, the release mentions.
The Chief Whip further assured SUS that all the demands placed would be fulfilled in time and urged for patience regarding the same.
The union’s joint secretary Marina Rai highlighted the works initiated by SUS for the welfare of students till date and the basic needs and demands of the colleges which are to be fulfilled.
SUS president, Ugen Bhutia also expressed gratitude to the state government for working for the welfare of students.
