NCSO observes International Volunteer Day


MANGAN, 06 Dec: The Nature Conservation Social Organization (NCSO), a Kabi-Lungtsok based NGO observed the International Volunteer Day yesterday here at Tingda Primary School under Kabi-Tingda GPU in North Sikkim.  

The function had Headmaster Lingchom Primary School, HL Ram as chief guest, informs a press release issued by the NCSO president, Dawa Gyalpo Sherpa. Mr Sherpa highlighting about the International Volunteer Day informed that the Day is observed by many non-governmental organizations around the world.
While highlighting the different activities undertaken by NCSO in the villages, the president said that the declared aim of this activity is to thank the volunteers for their efforts and increase public awareness on their contribution towards society, the release informs.
Similarly, the chief guest said that as selfless workers, volunteers bring vision and inspiration as they undertake actions to lessen the pain brought by disasters and tragedies associated with poverty, pollution, disease, and conflict and also thanked the NCSO volunteers for their selfless dedication in carrying out different social activities in the area.
The function was attended by NCSO members, students, teachers and people from all walks of life, the release adds.
