NASSS executive body discusses future course of action


GANGTOK, 06 Dec: The executive body meeting of the Nagarik Adhikar Suraksha Sangathan, Sikkim [NASSS] was held on 05 Dec to discuss the organisation’s future course of action, informs a press release issued by its president, TN Dhakal.

Members from various parts of the state informed the meeting that the 18/9 earthquake victims have not been compensated and the promises made by the government remain only in words.
The meeting discussed at length the ongoing Power Projects and its effects wherein it was reaffirmed that NASSS will support the issues taken up by Save Sikkim in West Sikkim, the release informs.
It was mentioned in the meeting that “the state administration will be held responsible if some unwarranted situation is invited by the companies” and “No more tunneling in any part of the state” was suggested as a peaceful solution, the release adds.
The resignations submitted by Chief coordinator, MN Dahal and treasurer, CK Shrestha were accepted with an acknowledgement of their sincere services at the time of need, the release further mentions.
