GANGTOK, 19 Oct: Sikkim Football Association, at a meeting held today, condoled the demise of Tempo Rapgyal Khangsarpa at Namchi at around 7.30 PM on Tuesday. He was 86. The meeting observed a two minute silence as a mark of respect for the departed soul.
A press communiqué received from the SFA general secretary, Menla Ethenpa, General remembers that Late Mr. Rapgyal as one of the top football players from yesteryears. “He dominated the game playing for Kumar Sporting Club, Gangtok from 1950 to 1960. KSC was owned by the Crown Prince of Sikkim. His game was so superior that even a renowned club from Kolkata had signed him to play for it during those days,” the release shares.
The funeral is scheduled for Friday, 21 Oct.
