MANGAN, 18 Oct: The off-roll employees with Sneha Kinetic Power Project Ltd. who went on strike yesterday when the company could not fulfil their three pending demands, returned to work today after the company capitulated and gave in to all the pending demands. The three pending demands sought the issue of appointment letters, salary increment and insurance cover for the employees.
Today, the off-roll employees posted at the power house site at Dikchu called off their strike when they were provided with the appointment letters as per the norms of the company.
While speaking to NOW!, employees posted at the power house site said, “We are satisfied that our demands have been fulfilled by the company and would also like to thank the CEO, SKPPL and other officials for favouring our requests”.
Work at the power house site has now resumed.
The appointment letters were handed over by the SKPPL officials led by AGM, Karma Lepcha and HR Manager, TR Sharma to all the employees. However, the matter at the Lingdok dam-site remains in limbo as the appointment letters are yet to be handed over there. The mess at Lingdok however resumed today.
The off-roll employees were dissatisfied mostly with the appointment letters not being issued even though the same had been issued to employees from other states.
