GANGTOK, 20 Oct: The Sadar police today apprehended three persons charged under the Arms Act for an offence committed in Arunachal Pradesh. On information received from the Ziro police station, Arunachal Pradesh, that the trio had possibly decamped to Gangtok, the Sadar police conducted a combing operation of all the hotels in the capital. The three were found holed up in a hotel at Kazi Road where they had checked in yesterday.
The three have been identified as Bintok, 22 years of age, Nido Neahru 21 and Bikash Kina, 28, all informed to belong to Dollungmak, Lower Sawar City, Arunachal Pradesh. According to reports the three had robbed a man there of Rs. 15 lakh at gun-point. They were today produced before the Magistrate for police remand of 3 days to facilitate their handing over to personnel from the Ziro police station who are expected to arrive here to take the accused back.
