The earthquake and after, an update

GANGTOK, 18 Oct [IPR]: The earthquake which hit the State on 18 September has severely damaged the infrastructures of the state.
Total numbers of 53,172 houses have been damaged in the state.
A total of 642 schools have sustained damage. This figure includes major damage, minor damage and totally collapsed schools. Temporary sheds have already been constructed in 30% of the schools and the HRDD is constructing additional temporary sheds in schools where ever required. The schools of the state are running as normal now.
53 relief camps have been established in Sikkim sheltering 1,154 people. As things stand, these relief camps will be maintained for 60 days from the date of the earthquake and time extension will be done on monthly basis from thereon for relief camps set up in the worst affected areas.
Evacuation Notices have been issued to 57 houses by the government while demolition orders have been issued to 12 buildings.
The State Government has requisitioned 510 prefabricated houses from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Out of these 510 houses, 250 are for Chungthang, 200 for Mangan, 10 for Ravangla and 50 for West Sikkim. Two houses have already been reached North Sikkim and have been established at Mangan and Upper Dzongu.
More than 300 sorties were undertaken by the Army, Pawan Hans and Teesta Urja helicopters to the affected areas in the past month.
