TWO MEMBERS AMONG THOSE ARRESTED IN DELHI, ONE MORE LEAVES TO JOIN DELHI DEMONSTRATIONS
RANGPO, 17 Aug: The Sikkim-chapter of India Against Corruption has conveyed its thanks to all who responded to its call for a rally against corruption in Gangtok to register support for the Jan Lokpal Bill movement led by Anna Hazare.
In a press communiqué issued today, the IAC Sikkim coordinator, Ragap Chettri, has extended special thanks to all members of social organisations, NGOs, clubs, youth bodies and senior citizens for participating in the Gangtok rally yesterday.
Meanwhile in Delhi, Keshav Bhattarai of Gorkha Apex Committee and KN Tiwari, an IAC-Sikkim member, who were in Delhi yesterday, joined the processions there and were arrested by Delhi police yesterday. Both were released this morning. Another IAC-Sikkim member, Anita Subba, left for Delhi today to join in agitation there. She was also the lone representative from Sikkim at the 04 June event of Baba Ramdev. [from SANJAY AGARWAL]
