Training on Cooking and House Keeping begins at Maniram

NAMCHI, 06 Feb: The inaugural function of 21-day Skill Development Training Programme on Cooking and House Keeping under Centre for Practical Livelihood Training, a society of North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited in association with Rural Consultancy, was held on 05 February at Maniram Village Tourism Cultural Centre, Maniram, South Sikkim. 
The function was attended by Manager NEDFi Namchi Branch, Abhisek Lama as the chief guest. Altogether 24 interested participants attended the training programme on cooking and house-keeping. This training programme will take place for 20 days starting from 05 February till 25 February.
This skill development training will not only provide additional knowledge to the trainers but will also help in boosting tourism in that particular area, as  Maniram Village is one of the upcoming village tourism spots in South Sikkim. The Maniram Village Tourism has been doing well and is among the best home stay tourism spots in South District. This training programme is expected to enhance the tourism sector here further.
Also present were Director, Rural Consultancy, Nirpad Gurung, Advisor Rural Consultancy and general secretary of Sikkim Association of Tour and Travel Operators, Saran Gurung. Among the representatives from the locality were Purna Tamang, general secretary Maniram Village Tourism and Mentor for the Training Programme, Smita Rai.
