GANGTOK, 04 Feb: Five vehicles carrying Sikkim Krantikari
Morcha [SKM] supporters were pelted with stones at Marchak Bridge, Lower Tintek
in East Sikkim this evening.
The vehicles were part of the SKM convoy from North Sikkim
which was returning from the party’s foundation day celebrations at Jorethang.
When the vehicles reached Marchak Bridge at around 7:30
p.m., they were reportedly pelted with stones from the cliff above.
Following the incident, SKM supporters blocked the
Mangan-Singtam highway demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits. An FIR
has also been lodged at Dikchu Out-Post.
