GANGTOK, 24 Nov: Lok Adalat (District Legal Services Authority), South Sikkim, at Namchi settled 104 cases after taking up 244 cases on a single day i.e. on 23 November as part of the National Lok Adalat.
A press release informs that the National Lok Adalat is being held throughout the country on the direction of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi.
The bench was headed by Judge, Prajwal Khatiwada with Lakpa Tamang (Ecclesiastical Affairs Department) as the other Member, the release adds.
A Lok Adalat was also held at ADR Centre Taluk, Mangan by Sikkim State Legal Services Authority in the presence of Judicial Magistrate, District Court, Mangan, Binay Sharma and member, Pemzang Tenzing along with other staff of the centre. The Lok Adalat took up a total of 9 cases out of which 3 criminal cases, 1 pre-litigations title civil cases were settled.
