Two booked under SADA for peddling drugs

GANGTOK, 04 Nov: Two persons have been booked by the Sadar Police under section 9 of the Sikkim Anti Drugs Act [SADA] for being in possession of contraband substances.
On 03 November, at about 5 p.m. the Sadar Police Station received information that two individuals Ajay Rai and Bhim Tamang are peddling contraband substances in their red coloured taxi van [SK-04-3421] near the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology situated at Deorali in Gangtok.
A police team visited the place, where Ajay Rai [40], son of Arun Kumar Rai, resident of Ranka, Rai Goan, East Sikkim along with the driver of the taxi were nabbed with 64 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon [SP].
Meanwhile, the other accused Bhim Tamang had absconded from the spot and efforts are on by the police to arrest him. It may be mentioned here that Bhim Tamang has already been arrested and fined in four SADA cases by the Sadar police. The taxi vehicle has also been seized, it was informed.
