Theft in Lachung

GANGTOK, 07 Nov: A case of theft has been registered against unknown persons on 06 November at the Lachung Police Station.
A written FIR lodged by site In-charge of MG Contractor Pvt Ltd, Lachung, Rajendra Singh [38], originally from Punjab, but residing at Jongey Thang in Lachung at present, states that on 06 November, at around 12.30 in the afternoon, when he arrived at his rented house at Jongey Thang, he found the locks of the main door and his room broken. He had been away in Punjab for a period of 44 days.
Upon searching, he found four hand-held GP 328 wireless sets missing. A case under sections 457/380 [lurking house-trespass or house breaking by night in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment and theft in dwelling house] of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against unknown persons at the Lachung Police Station and the case is under investigation.
