SINGTAM, 09 Nov: A 23-member team from Sikkim which was sent on an exposure trip on the use of bamboo to Assam and Nagaland in September has expressed their gratitude to the Sikkim government for the opportunity.

The team, which was led by the consultant of the department, Dr Tika Prasad Nepal, visited various industries and centres at both the places during the tour. The team comprised of members from different non-governmental organizations.
The state government has been giving priority to encourage locals on bamboo, so the main objective of the tour was to provide an idea on the items that can be made from bamboo, it is informed.
