NAMCHI, 01 Sept: The South District Football Association and South District administration have expressed their grief on the passing away of South Zilla Adhakshya, Ravi Chandra Gurung, who was killed in a road mishap in Nepal on 28 August. His funeral was held yesterday.
The SDFA members and South DAC officials held a condolence meeting at the DAC conference hall today.
The Namchi-Singithang MLA, Binod Rai, Tea Board Chairman, Gagan Rai, Namchi Municipal Council chairman BT Tamang, vice-chairman NH Ansari, Upadhakshya Himal Tamang, DC South AK Singh, Joint Director, Sports & Youth Affairs, Kamal Chettri, DFO Udai Gurung and officers, staff and all members of SDFA was present for the condolence meeting.
The Namchi-Singithang MLA, in his condolence message, remembered the late Zilla Adhakshya as a “dedicated social worker” who has consistently worked in the interest of the people, was always punctual, cheerful and considerate. His death was an irreparable loss to the State, he stressed.
The Late Adhakshya was also chairman of the SDFA whose members are arranging for special prayers at Samdruptse for the peace to his soul.
