Annual Sports Day at Holy Cross



GANGTOK, 01 April: Red House emerged the overall champion at the 11th annual sports meet of Holy Cross School, Tadong, held Friday at the school ground. Likewise, green house, yellow house and blue house stood on second, third and fourth positions respectively.
On the occasion, the primary and secondary students have also performed march past, drill and aerobics.
The sports meet included events like the frog race, caterpillar race, garlanding the partner race, skipping race, mathematics race, 100m, 200m, 4X100 relay race, three legged race, obstacle race, Tug of War, and others.
There were also special events for the parents, guardians and ex-students.

Secretary, Sports & Youth Affairs, Karma P Bhutia was present as the chief guest, and gave away the prizes and certificates to the winners.
The chief guest urged the students and the youth to take up games and sports to keep away from all forms of abuse like drug addiction and alcoholism.
Principal, Sister Jessy Mathew, thanked everybody who supported event and helped make the annual sports successful.
The meet was also attended by former Provincial Superior and General Councilor of Holy Cross Institute, Fr. George SJ, Principal of St. Xavier’s School, Devania Nepal, Ward Councilor, Prabhat Gurung, member of School Managing Committee, Basudev Pradhan along with parents and guardians of other school and members of Ex-Crossites [School’s Alumni Association].
