GANGTOK, 02 Apr: Its appeal for an exemption having attracted a strong reaction from the Sikkim Democratic Front which has called a two day bandh in Sikkim for 04 and 05 April, the Sikkim Hotels & Restaurants Association has called on all its members to support the bandh.
A press release issued by the SHRA assistant general secretary, Basudev Upreti, reads: “We understand that the 2 day bandh by the ruling party has been done for the cause of the Sikkimese people hence we fully support the cause and urge all our members to support the same.”
The SHRA president, Bhanu Pratap Rasaily, adds: "We understand and fully support the move of the SDF party of a 48 hr Sikkim Bandh for the genuine cause of the Sikkimese people and to safeguard the job opportunities of coming generations. Hence we fully support the cause and urge all our members to support the cause wholeheartedly."
