Bimal Gurung writes to thank CM


GANGTOK: The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha president, Bimal Gurung, has expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Pawan Chamling on introducing and passing a resolution supporting the Gorkhaland demand in the Sikkim Legislative Assembly.
In a letter to the Chief Minister on Tuesday, Mr Gurung begins by stating, “I am overwhelmed with intense happiness on hearing the news that the Legislative Assembly of the state of Sikkim unanimously passed a resolution supporting our demand for the creation of a separate state of Gorkhaland”.

He further writes that there were no words to “express the gratitude of all Gorkhas on the Chief Minister’s ‘wholehearted support’ and initiative to give the much needed recognition of the statehood demand”.
“I, with my colleagues in the party, and all association affiliated to the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, would like to express our deep sense of gratitude to you personally, to the Speaker and all members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Sikkim and the entire Sikkimese citizens for this resolution”, the letter reads.
It says that this act will be a milestone in history and “certainly and firmly bind us in a permanent bond of friendship and brotherhood”.
