Singtam residents complain against LPG distributor

SINGTAM, 27 Apr: Residents of Singtam bazaar and surrounding areas waited the whole of Saturday for their LPG refills only to return home empty handed. The LPG distributor for the area delivers LPG cylinders every Saturday, however, the distributor’s vehicle failed to turn up this Saturday. The consumers were not informed of this and they waited in queue till 5 in the evening.
Large number of consumers had lined up since early morning in front of the SNT booking office as per the scheduled time and day. The consumers from Aadarsh Gaon, Singtam bazaar, Chalamthang, Yangang, West Pendam have complained against the LPG distributing agency and urged the concerned authorities to intervene.
They also alleged that the agency is overcharging consumers where they have to pay Rs 465 per refilled cylinder as against the prescribed rate of Rs 429.50.
