SDF rubbishes SKM allegations and claims

GANGTOK, 02 Apr: Sikkim Democratic Front has said that the former Chief Minister, Nar Bahadur Bhandari extending support to Sikkim Krantikari Morcha has no relevance in the 2014 elections. The former CM has lost credibility and even failed to field a candidate from his party in this election, the party points out to underline its conviction of Mr. Bhandari being a spent political force.
SDF spokesperson Bhim Dahal today said, “His support to any SKM candidate will not affect the SDF party. SDF has defeated Mr. Bhandari more than 12 times and we don’t feel that his blessings for the opposition parties would make any impact”.
The party also refuted allegations against its Gyalshing-Bermiok candidate, SB Subedi of barging into a house and abusing a woman there. Mr Dahal contended that Mr Subedi had paid a casual visit to the house and alleged that it was an attempt of the SKM party to defame the SDF leader and candidate.
It is a conspiracy of the SKM party to malign SDF and distract the public from the loss it is due to suffer in the coming election, he further alleged.
The SDF spokesperson also denied the party having any hand in the attack on SKM secretary general, MK Subba, at Namchi. According to him, it was angry SKM ticket aspirants who had been denied a party ticket who attacked their own party workers yesterday.

He claimed that SDF party workers Deepak Rai and Arjun Rai were not at the spot when Mr. Subba was attacked. He added that both Deepak and Arjun are disciplined party workers and have a good image in the society.
