SKM campaigns at Lingmoo and Chujachen

GANGTOK, 30 Mar: Sikkim Krantikari Morcha held its first ward level meeting at Lingmoo under the Rangang-Yangang constituency today. The meeting was attended by locals along with SKM vice president Phuchung Bhutia, secretary general MK Subba and Lalit Sharma.
A press release informs that Lalit Sharma, who recently joined SKM, accused the SDF government of not addressing problems of the state’s youth. He criticized the practice of ad-hoc employment in the state government and rejected the vocational training provided to youth as useless.
Shanti Niraula of Lingmoo alleged that no development has taken place in the area in the past 20 years. MK Subba, in turn, accused the SDF government of rendering people jobless by shutting down local industries like SITCO and Sikkim Jewels while allowing more than 80 private companies from outside to set up shop in the state.
Meanwhile, the party’s election campaigning at Chujachen constituency is on full swing. Another SKM press release informs that the party has covered Rongli, Biring, Sundunglakha, Aritar and other surrounding wards on 29 and 30 March.

The campaign was led by the SKM candidate of Chujachen, KB Gurung along with members of women and youth wings of the party.
