GANGTOK, 26 Sept: Rotary Club of Gangtok conducted a workshop on Stress Management for the students of Tashi Namgyal Academy appearing for the board exams. This half-a-day workshop was conducted on 20 September.
As per a press release, the resource persons for the workshop were Dr. Praveen Somani and Dr. CS Sharma. Tirtharam Sharma of the Rotary Club also gave a motivational speech to students on the day.
The idea behind holding a series of such workshops for students appearing for the board exams is to help develop better coping skills and problem solving skills amongst students so that they can manage stress arising from various sources, not only studies, much better.
It was emphasized during the workshop that usually, board exam is the first event in a student’s life when he/she is subjected to stress.
The way students learn to handle stress during this juncture of life will determine what their future will turn out to be. Correct stress manage skills learnt during teenage will pay good dividends throughout their lives.
The release informs that Rotary Club of Gangtok plans to organize such camps at various other schools in Gangtok over the next two months well before intensive preparations for board exams begin.
