SATA felicitates medal winners from national Poomsae c’ships

GANGTOK, 19 June: Sikkim Amateur Taekwondo Association (SATA) today felicitated its sub-junior players who won four Gold and four Silver medals in the recently held 7th National Sub-junior Poomsae Taekwondo championship, 32nd National Sub-junior Taekwondo Championship and 1st National Cadet Taekwondo championship at Kurukshetra, Haryana from 05 to 08 June 2014.
Pawandeep Rai from Namchi won two Gold medals in Cadet Individual Poomsae event and Cadet Pair event. Sulochana Limboo (Subba) from US Academy, Uttarey, West Sikkim won Gold medal in Cadet Pair Poomsae event and Sneeha Pradhan from Namchi won Gold medal in sub-junior Individual Poomsae event, informs a SATA release.
Nugnandini Chhetri from TN Academy, Gangtok won Bronze medal in Sub-junior Individual Poomsae event. Divya Drishti Chhetri (TNA), Priyadarshini Jyoti Baniya (TNA) and Saina Gurung (Namchi) won Bronze medal in Cadet Girls Team Poomsae event.
The team was led by Trilok Subba, Bijay Gurung and Shyam Subba while Rinchen Kazi accompanied the team as manager.
Sulochana Limboo and Pawandeep Rai have been selected for the national team which will take part in the 1st Cadet World Taekwondo Championship which is scheduled to be held at Baku, Azarbaijan from 24 to 27 July 2014, the release mentions.
President and all members of SATA have congratulated the team for their achievement and wish them good luck for the forthcoming Cadet World Taekwondo championship, it further adds.
