GANGTOK, 10 Feb: The weeklong fun and learning “Winter is Fun” camp for 135 students of Singhik and nearby areas concluded at Singhik Secondary School on Sunday.
A press release informs that on the final day, students showcased what they had learned through the weeklong engagement. Painting, theatre performance and dance performances were presented by the senior and junior students.
During the weeklong program, guests including Kushal Gurung and Thinley Bhutia spoke to the kids on photography as a hobby, conservation of ecology, etc. A half-day session was also conducted by invited guest Senior Medical Officer, District Hospital Mangan, Dr. Tempo Kaleon, who stressed on the importance and benefits of cleanliness and general hygiene, the release mentions.
The students said that they benefitted immensely from the weeklong program and thanked the area MLA, TW Lepcha, the school authorities and the Creative Craft team for putting together the Winter is Fun Camp, it adds.
