Knitting Training Program for Rural Women by NHPC

GANGTOK, 07 Feb: One-month Knitting Training Program for rural women was started by Teesta-V Power Station, NHPC Limited today.
A press release informs that this training program is a part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development (CSR-SD) initiative. The training is being organised for rural women from the vicinity of the power station with an aim to enable them for self-employment.  
This training program is being conducted in association with Jan Sewa Samiti, Pachak , an NGO. 10 participants will be trained by Pabita Singh and Sumitra Rai on the use of knitting machine and
woolen knitting.
The training program was inaugurated by General Manager, Teesta-V Power Station, AB Saha. The president, Ladies Welfare Association, Teesta-V Power Station, Suparna Saha appreciated the initiatives of the power station towards women’s empowerment, the release mentions.
Also present were, Manager (HR), RKVerma, Panchayat President, Namphing, Vikas Sharma and other senior officers.
