GANGTOK, 11 Feb [IPR]: The newly constructed building of Chalamthang Pacheykhani Gram Prasashan Kendra at Pacheykhani of Rhenock constituency under Pakyong Gram Vikas Kendra was inaugurated by Minister for Rural Management & Development Department, CB Karki, on 10 February 2014.
Divisional Engineer, EDZP, SS Timsina presented the technical report which explained that the construction of the GPK was funded from the 13th Finance Commission 2010-11.The construction was started in the year 2011 and was completed in December 2013 at a cost of Rs. 29.6 lakh. The contract work was done by ManavKalyan Contractors Co-operative Society, Rorathang, Pacheykhani.
Sona Ram Pradhan, who had donated the land for the GPK, was felicitated by the chief guest, Mr Karki on the occasion. In his address, Mr Karki emphasized on using the GPK to facilitate rural development. He dedicated the GPK to the people of the GPU and directed the Panchayats to strengthen the Gram Prashashan Kendra under Rajiv Gandhi Sewa Kendra Scheme.
Guests of honour, Minister for Tourism & Forest and MLA of Rhenock constituency, Bhim Dhungel and Zilla Adhyaksha, Bimal Dawari also addressed the gathering.
