GANGTOK, 06 Nov: The Health department has installed a ‘silent’ generator at East District Hospital, Singtam, to back up its power supply.
A press release informs that Mission Director, National Rural Health Mission, Dr. PM Pradhan inaugurated the new generator in the presence of Chief Medical Officer [East], SE Mechanical, Divisional Engineer and other health staff of Singtam Hospital on 02 November, just ahead of the Diwali holidays.
The generator produces 160 Kilo Volt Ampere which is adequate for running existing facilities in the hospital, it is informed.
The NRHM Mission Director also visited all sections and units of the hospital and asked the staff to deliver services with more dedication and commitment. He has also inspected renovated sites within the hospital.
Earlier, the Mission Director made a surprise visit to Rangpo PHC and instructed the staff there to deliver quality services.
