2nd Basic Mountaineering Course at IHCAE Chemchey



GANGTOK, 30 May: Indian Himalayan Center for Adventure and Ecotourism, Chemchey, South Sikkim conducted the 2nd Basic Mountaineering Course from 02 to 29 May. 28 participants (12 girls/16 boys) passed out having completed the Basic Mountaineering Course which was conducted at a glacier in West Sikkim, informs a press release.
The course was sponsored by the Government of Sikkim with the objective of inculcating a sense of adventure and to promote ecotourism. The Institute will be conducting an Advance Mountaineering Course sometime at the end of this year, the release mentions.
Conducting Basic Mountaineering Course (BMC) and Advance Mountaineering Course (AMC) is a pre requisite for any Mountaineering Institute to get full fledged recognition and support from the IMF (Indian Mountaineering Federation), the release adds.
