GANGTOK, 23 Jan: The Sikkim Democratic Front has announced plans to celebrate its second decadal convention on 03 and 04 March at Jorethang, South Sikkim in grand manner. This was decided at a meeting of the party held here at party headquarters at Indira Byepass today under the chairmanship of party vice president KB Chamling.
The meeting, also attended by vice presidents, general secretaries, central executive members, former ministers, MLAs and members of various frontal organizations, decided that the celebration will include an internal meeting of the party, public meeting, a cultural extravaganza and also feature the grand finale of Sargam Sikkim, a state-level talent hunt being organized by the cultural wing of the party.
Today’s meeting constituted various sub-committees and handed over their respective responsibilities, informs a press release issued by Amber Rai, publicity secretary of the party. A review meeting of the same is scheduled to be held at Jorethang on 01 February, the release adds.
