GANGTOK, 20 Jan: The Sadar police has arrested one person on charges of kidnapping a minor girl. The girl, a 14 year old, is alleged to have been kidnapped by one Md. Aktar Alam who was currently residing in Bojoghari. The incident was reported on 16 January when Sadar police were informed, immediately a kidnapping case registered and a hunt organized for the accused who, it was learnt, was all set to leave for New Delhi by train that same night. A police team reached NJP railway station on 17 January evening and made the arrest there; The accused, it is informed, was about to board the Brahmaputra Express for New Delhi. He has been taken into custody and the minor recovered and duly sent for medical examination.
