Sikkim GJM appeals to Dooars and Siliguri residents living here to return and present case to joint verification committee


GANGTOK, 28 June: Gorkha Janmukti Morcha’s Sikkim-unit has appealed to the people from Siliguri, Dooars and terrai regions residing in Sikkim to visit their hometowns inform their constituents there about the survey to be conducted in those parts by the Joint Verification Committee to collect the people’s opinion on being included within the boundaries of the proposed Gorkhaland.
A committee is to be formed to survey areas dominated by the Gorkha community in Siliguri, Terrai and Dooars. The Committee will have representatives from Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri district administrative, Central Government and four members from GJM and scheduled to submit its report to the Central Government within 6 months from the start of the survey.
